In the past year, DeFi infrastructure has grown at an absurd rate with new protocols either being built on top of existing ones or iterating upon them. One of these DeFi primitives are Automated Market Makers (AMMs) which remove the need for traditional order books and allows users to trade digital assets in a permissionless manner through the use of Liquidity Pools.
Today, Andy and Rob interview Mark Lamb, the CEO of CoinFlex, a centralized exchange that has developed AMM+, a hybrid model that combines DeFi’s AMM with CeFi’s Orderbook to create the first futures AMM. We get to hear about the current trend towards Decentralized Exchange (DEX) platforms, dYdX’s trading volume rivaling those of centralized exchanges, and how all these make becoming a Liquidity Provider (LP) on a Futures AMM attractive for the end user.
